Ideas for couples retreat group activity?

My husband and I are going on a couples retreat with about 10 other married couples and we have been asked to lead one of the group activities. I need ideas fast!!! Oh, and this is going to be at a Christian camp, so please keep it clean :)Ideas for couples retreat group activity?
Have them write a love letter to each other. Have them start the letter with how they first felt when they met each other. It is always good to remember why we married this person we live with!!!

This activity with rekindle the feelings when they first met and the ';small'; things their marriage is going through will melt away!!!Ideas for couples retreat group activity?
go to the store to the Candy isle and get a few bags of them jelly belly jelly beans. they have a few hundred in a bag and the flavors and pic. of the colors are on the back of the bag .they have flavors like cotton candy, coffee, dr.pepper, pop corn and so on. all you have to do is have 2 teams and blind fold one person fromn each team and put a jelly bean in there mouth and see who can guess the flavor first for points or something,,,,,have fun,,,,you can even have couples as a team and blind fold the couple and let them guess together also play that whell barrel race with the couples maybe get some water ballons for them to have a toss maybe some boiled eggs and play the egg role game just make sure couples are on the same team so they can win together.....
How to rekindle love in a marriage. The effect of saying: thank you, I need you, I love you, I appreciate you at least once or twice a day. Intimacy is stronger than sex, holding hands make women feel younger and wanted by their husbands. Not too long ago, a Pastor had asked the married couples of his church to have sex everyday for a week. It was a therapy session to bring them closer as husband and wife.
There's a few suggestions on this question:

  • Married couples working on cruise ships?

My fiancee and I are interested in working for a cruise ship. Are there any cruise lines who allow married couples to reside together while on voyage?Married couples working on cruise ships?
I am assuming that by the time you apply to a cruise line, you will be married, since you are talking about your fiancee.

While nowadays several cruise lines will let you be in the same cabin, first you need to be married (same last name helps)

Then you need to apply at the same time (as a package)

However, depending on what you apply for, there might not be a position availalbe on the same ship for both people - or at the same time. So it could well be you would end up on different ships. Or one starts earlier than the other - so your vacation time would not be in synch.

A lot depends on what you are applying for (same department with a lot of turn around is easier than if a position exists only one or two times onboard)Married couples working on cruise ships?
I'm pretty sure Royal Caribbean does.

    I'd check into it though.

If Prop 8 passes (which it looks as if it will), what will happen to gay couples who already got married?

Will their marriages be considered no longer valid in California?

I read somewhere that it will be illegal for California to declare invalid marriages that it has already solemnized. Does anyone know the law on this?If Prop 8 passes (which it looks as if it will), what will happen to gay couples who already got married?
    I just read this: ';California State Attorney General Jerry Brown has said existing marriages will remain valid, but other legal experts say challenges are likely.';

http://www.comcast.net/articles/news-gen鈥?/a>If Prop 8 passes (which it looks as if it will), what will happen to gay couples who already got married?
the same as if any law declared something illegal.

For instance. Slavery. If you bought a slave when it was legal, as soon as it was illegal, you didnt own the slave anymore. Same with gay marriage. Its not legal anymore. Its basically an ';Insta-divorce'; today for everyone who got gay married.
They stay in limbo. I heard that this doesn't affect those who already got married, but future same-sex couples won't be able to marry.

I don't know if the site below will have the additional info but they should point you in the right direction.
Have faith, exit polls are showing that Prop-8 will fail.

    http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/results鈥?/a>

As for the marriages, they will be put into a legal limbo.

    http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-鈥?/a>
Simple. They will no longer be valid or recognized by the state.

Any couples out there that choose NOT to celebrate Valentines Day?

Just wondering.Any couples out there that choose NOT to celebrate Valentines Day?
I show my husband every day that I love him, not just on Valentine's day.

Besides that: Valentine's day has gotten way to commercial to be fun anymore.Any couples out there that choose NOT to celebrate Valentines Day?
I agree with November, above. I've been married for a while, and we don't usually bother.
Well, we don't feel pressured to celebrate it...

History of the day aside, I like for my husband and I to acknowledge it because it's so easy to take each other for granted. It's just an appointed time for us to do what we really should be better at doing on an ongoing basis.

But I believe that we have NOT celebrated it before. Maybe exchanged cards, but that's it. And maybe I gave one, but didn't get one! *lol* No pressure! :0)
Yes, me and my husband. We celebrated it up until we got married and now feel that it's for single couples or boyfriend/girlfriends. Traditionally it wasn't ever for married couples.
We celebrate it but this year we cant celebrate untill Feb 16 due to him working nights and me taking night classes.
We used to celebrate Valentine's Day when we first started dating but, after 3 years we stopped (we've been together 8). We both agree that we don't need a special day to appreciate eachother because we are so happy everyday.

We are able to spend a lot of time together. I do think that for couples that don't get to spend a lot of time together it's a good excuse to set aside some time to do something special for the eachother.

We don't decide specifically NOT to get anything for eachother or do anything special but, if we don't we don't think twice about it. I never was the type of girl who needed presents, flowers, and candy. It's kinda overplayed.
We don't really celebrate as it's so close to our anniversary. I always make a nice meal at home and have a good bottle of wine. You can still make it a romantic evening. Plus it saves on going out and having to wait forever to be seated and served. We do exchange cards though.
for me and my husband every day is a valentine's day, why not ?

it's a pleasure for each other...
    not me,i celebrate.

What is the average age a guy gets married? What is the average age difference between couples?

Actually, I had read not too long ago most men marry within 2 years of their own age.

My husband is 9 years older than me.What is the average age a guy gets married? What is the average age difference between couples?
My guess that the average age for men to get married at is 25.

The average age between couples: 2 years or so.

I'll be 31 when I get married and my fiance will be 29 (almost 30) when we tie the knot. My fiance turns 30 1 month after we get married and I will have turned 31 1 month before we get married. We are exactly 14 months apart in age (me being 14 months older)What is the average age a guy gets married? What is the average age difference between couples?
I would guess the average age for women to get married now is 24 and men, 28 and that there's usually 2-4 years between them.

My situation was different. When I married my husband I was 27, he was 35 and we've got 8 years between us.
you know, averages mean something when it comes to Batting (GO CUBBIESSSSS!!!!!) average in baseball, completion ratio in football (Rex, you still suck!!) etc etc...

that average you're looking for has no meaning what so ever.
I think those statistics are probably wrapped up in the Divorce Statistics.....Since the stats are so high for it.....78%.

    Those stats are available online.

But don't be in such a hurry to get to your first divorce honey.

    Live a little.
There's no average age when any guy gets married. I don't think there is an average age difference either. As long as the couple loves each other, it doesn't matter how old they are.
i don't really think there is an average age to get married especially because so many people are doing 2nd and 3rd marriages now. my hubby was 24, i was 23. he's only 10 months older.
Man or Woman I would say about later 20's to get hitched. And about 5yr difference between them regardless of there gender.
well, me and my hubby were married at 18, Im a day older than him.

I dont think there is an average.
lately alot of people are marrying really young. like 20-25 and the guys are usually older by 2-3 yrs.

    thats what i have noticed.
I don't think that there is an ';average'; age.

I was married when I was 38, my wife is 4 years older than I am.
Depends on the people involved. I will be 26 when I get hitched and my loving fiancee is 6 months my junior.

Busy couples, how often do you and your significant other talk?

For all the busy couples out there...pref.not living together.

How often do you talk (phone, email, chat, or even see each other).

Just curious if I am out of the norm.Busy couples, how often do you and your significant other talk?
Right now, my boyfriend and I aren't living together. That will be changing in the next two months. Currently, I'm a teacher and a part-time student (MS) and he's a scientist working 10-11 hr days 6 days a week. We make it a point to talk every night whether it be on IM or on the phone and we typically see each other every other day with the exception of Friday and Saturday. It's usually 3 times a week, only for an hour or 2. The schedule has put a strain on us to some extent. We want to see more of each other but with everything we have, it's hard sometimes. We take what we can get and are living for July 1st, when we will be living together officially. When he was away on business for 2 months he'd text me in the mornings to tell me he loved me. Now that he's home, we usually talk at night, but he'll still text me if we kinda said goodnight on a sour note the night before.Busy couples, how often do you and your significant other talk?
Salam... my fiance travels alot.. WE talk at least once a week other times we talk twice when he isn't busy... But he always calls at least once a week...

  • What kind of questions do they ask couples at pre-marital counseling?

Do they ask about your sex life? What kind of questions do they ask couples at pre-marital counseling?
I was a premarital counselor and asked few questions about sex. There was a list of relationship questions, about 200 of them, that were basically values clarification. The questions gave us an oppt. to talk about money issues, religion, child rearing, and general expectations. IT was through the discussion that the couple learned more about each other and explored sensitive issues, coming to a resolution and possible compromise BEFORE marriage. What kind of questions do they ask couples at pre-marital counseling?
Premarital counseling is a normal thing for many couples to do. Not just catholics like everyone thinks.

My wife and I did it and we couldn't be happier with the results. Premarital counseling is not like marriage counseling. It is a way to prepare for what married life will be like. It helps you learn how to resolve differences/arguments rationally and to help you understand why your husband does things the way he does and vise versa. You also get to learn cool things about yourself like your love languages, your personality type, and more. I would highly recommend it.

They do bring up sex, but some pastors will only discuss your future sex life as a married couple and not dwell too much in the past. It all depends.
They don't really ask you questions so much as ask you to have an open discussion with you about it. They don't sit there and go: ';So, how many times a week do you have sex?';. My premarital counselor brought the subject of sex up, but did not force us to talk about it. We did feel uncomfortable, so she just told us how and why conflict can arise with this topic and also told us how to solve it. But that was it.
Missy, the counselor will ask you questions so that the answers will help you know what to expect when you get married.

Yes, if he/she is a good counselor, you will discuss sex. It is a huge part of marriage and you should be discussing this with your partner as well. Some of the questions could be:

鈥?Can you share with your partner what kind of affection you need?

鈥?What are the different ways you can demonstrate your affection for your partner?

鈥?How can you share your need for affection to your partner?

鈥?Do you talk about how you can meet each other鈥檚 need for affection?

These questions have more to do with sex than you would think.

The counselor should address communication, conflict resolution, how close you both feel to each other, how flexible you are in your relationship, and how you both get along in terms of your personality.

    Some communication questions:

鈥?How do you feel when your partner fails to share with you his/her feelings?

鈥?What can you do to help your partner share his/her feelings?

鈥?What can your partner do that will help you when it is a problem to share your feelings?

Other topics might include financial management, how you both will want to spend your time together (leisure activities), children and parenting, family and friends, expectations for marriage, and roles in the marriage.

Premarital counseling helps immensely (see article in sources) and if a minister knows what he/she is doing, he/she would prefer a couple have premarital counseling.

    Good luck!
they will ask about EVERYTHING. my brother went to pre-marital counseling, and it started out with a huge questionnaire each of them answered (with hundreds of questions). if you are having sex or intend to have sex, it will be discussed. -*D*
sometimes they'll ask about sex...they'll ask about EVERYTHING but its still a good idea to go b/c it really does help the relationship....I'm currently going with my FH and its done wonderful things for us.
Never heard of ';PRE'; marital counseling.

If you have problems BEFORE marriage, why are you considering it?
90% of the question will be about your sex life. Just kiding...Are you catholic? Thats normal thing to do, if your catholic
    They might.

Why are you worried? Is there any questions that you can't answer in front of your fiance?
i would have to say they probably do....

    Yes, and thanks for asking.

Why are some dance parties restricted to couples only?

So that guys don't hit on girls in a repulsive way.

it's just that girls can control their men a bit.Why are some dance parties restricted to couples only?
Maybe the person hosting it doesn't want a bunch of single people showing up to find someone to take home or to be with. They don't want anyone singled out who is trying to hit on people. It's just their preference. Why are some dance parties restricted to couples only?
Simple, you have to have a partner to dance with.

There USED to be an option to do this on the avatar site (though you could not SAVE it that way so that is showed up here). But the last time I checked, that option was not there any more, sorry.Does anyone know how to make avatar couples?
You could introduce a photo avatar, of two people from your own photo's.

Just curious do you think same sex couples celebrate valentines day?

personally i don't think it matters who you fall in love with and if you want to celebrate it why notJust curious do you think same sex couples celebrate valentines day?
of course they celebrate valentines day!

valentines day is about being with someone you truly care about, and same sex couples truly care about their significant other just like opposite sex couples. :)Just curious do you think same sex couples celebrate valentines day?
Yes, it isn't specifically for hetero couples, pretty much every couple celebrates valentines day unless they have agreed not to. It is a day to show love to anyone you care about.
Yes. It is a day to celebrate love between you and your partner, your friends, and your family.

Therefore, yes. Of course they do.

    x
Why the hell wouldn't they. What has valentines day got to do with what sex you are? It's abiut celebrating ur love or relationship with the person u care most about. That's a silly question.
Well I'm going to. But hopefully without the commercialised blither that is forced upon people now a days

Talk about awkward! I hate it when they come on and you're sitting in your living room with your mom and dad.. Do those sex medication commercials showing OLD couples gross you out?
I stared this question cos it is so so so funny.

    seriously funny.

but yeh it is quite gross =S

ewwy.Do those sex medication commercials showing OLD couples gross you out?
Well, old people have to have sex too.

Why do you think some old ladies are really nice and some are really mean? It all depends on how much sex they have.

So, no. i'd rather be around a loose, nice old lady then a sex-starved mean one.
of course! i don't want to imagine loose nasty pasty wrinkly skin, especially while picturing sex in your head! EW....
Old people have sex too, whether you like it or not! They don't need your approval to do it so deal with it!!!!
    no because everyone has sex.
i would assume that everyone is young?

do you think they gross the old people out that see them?
I really don't care. I know if I live to be that old, I'm going to be getting busy whenever I can!
... you just gave me a really messed up mental image... thanks I really needed that...

Now I have to go wash my brain!
No, they make you a stand up guy. Good luck*

Does the Justice of the peace have a legal right to not marry inter-racial couples?

I wonder if he feels the same with a black and asian or a latino etc..Does the Justice of the peace have a legal right to not marry inter-racial couples?
no, he does not. see ';Loving v. Virginia';, the 1971 SCOTUS decision that struck down anti-miscagenation laws.

this occurence is not as isolated a case as the conservatives would have you believe.

i really don't care how he feels. as a justice of the peace, an officer of the government, he has no right to bring his personal opinions into the execution of the duties of his office. wasn't that the conservative's primary objection to president obama's desire to choose federal jurists ';who have a sense of empathy';?

if conservatives wish to be once again taken seriously, they need to start living up to their own rhetoric. advocating a certain point of view and then abandoning it when it's applied to one's own self with the rationalization that ';but it's ok when they do it!'; is plain and simple hypocrisy.Does the Justice of the peace have a legal right to not marry inter-racial couples?
While I would support a pastors right (while not agreeing with it personally) to choose who he will marry, a Justice is an elected or appointed official and therefore is duly bound to uphold the laws of the citizenry whom he is appointed over. This man should immediately resign or be dismissed from this position (even if he did direct them to one who would marry them) for this racist stance. An elected official does not have the freedom to discriminate, but to serve all.
No. Really this isn't so much a race issue as it is one of legal jurisdiction. A judge is a representative of the law meant to interpret and enforce the laws of the legislature. This guy overstepped his bounds.

Also, his reasoning that the children of interracial marriages don't turn out well? Has he seen who's sitting in the oval office?
No, and it doesn't matter how he feels. Racial prejudice is merely one form of prejudice and injustice and I do sometimes think its 'elevation' to an 'unthinkable' ignores the many other kinds of prejudices that exist. However, no individual, whatever their private opinions, can exercise prejudice in performing governmental functions.
Depends on whether he has been issued a state license or not or whether there is even a requirement to have a state license.

If the state does issue a license for this profession, then no, he doesn't have the right to discriminate.

If the state doesn't issue a license, then unfortunately he can do whatever he pleases.
I think, legally, he has the same right to deny as any church does. That doesn't mean that the couple can't get married. It just means that he won't sign his name to the certificate.

Morally, on the other hand, he's what is commonly known as a ';douche-bag';.

    Have you seen his comments? ';I have piles and piles of black friends . . . they use my bathroom . . . ';
No. It's illegal and he will be dismissed I guarantee you that. I am from Louisiana and this is not at all surprising. The only shocking thing is his blatant disregard for the rule of law. We all know about the closet racists in Louisiana and the ones who hide behind their sheets because of their self-loathing.
He feels the same about all mixing it was on the news... Right or wrong ( I am white and was married to a Pacific Islander) just go to the next JP and get a license from them- we may feel differently but others still have a right to their beliefs too.
If his position/license was issued by the state then NO he does not have that right. If it was NOT issued by the state then YES he does have that right.

The state cannot discriminate, the individual has the freedom to (even if others think it's wrong).
well I wouldnt feel comfortable with him bringing his on personal beliefs when he makes a judgement%26gt;he is supposed to up hold the constitution and the law...not make judgements based on his own personal beliefs and he needs to step down
No, he has made a legal mistake and his decision should be appealed.
No. If interracial marriages were against the law, then he can deny them the license.
It's an isolated incident thats going to catch up with him verrry fast
No, not on the grounds he cited.
He can quit, i know i would, people like that make me sick and it should be illegal/
    No
    Nope...he's toast.
Well, I know that the majority of black parent(s) do not want their kids dating or marrying white people. But it's only racist if it's the other way around, right?
    Yes.

    Interracial is interatial
Reckon he can do whatever he wants, same as you..

What can married couples '; EXPECT '; when they try swinging with other married couples ?

what are the feelings fear-jealousy-joy ? What ?What can married couples '; EXPECT '; when they try swinging with other married couples ?
The short answer would be to expect the unexpected. You have to have a rock solid relationship that thrives on adversity and challenge and is able to adapt on the fly to the barrage of emotions that swinging will throw at it. It is definitely quite the emotional roller coaster ride!

I would suggest expecting your worst fears to rear their ugly heads first. Unless you're ready to deal with your ugliest personal demons (selfishness, fear of the other person your spouse is with being better in bed, fear that you'll be abandoned, fear that your spouse will not love you anymore, fear that your spouse will get too carried away and not care about how his/her actions may hurt you, etc), you're better off working yourself up to being ready for that first.

It's an unbelievable opportunity for personal growth, and I'm NOT the same woman I used to be. I'm much more. I attribute that in part to swinging. I think the biggest emotional surprises were that sex only has as much power over your relationship as you choose to give it, and that all the ';hurts'; I experienced were not actually real, but were built up in my own mind. My husband's intentions were always honourable, and it was my refusing to believe him that caused any problems. It's all about trust. What can married couples '; EXPECT '; when they try swinging with other married couples ?
We have been swingers for a few years. What it will do is expose the flaws in your marriage, whether it be jealousy, lack of communication, etc. IF these shortcomings aren't too severe, this serves as an opportunity for repair and strengthening of a marriage. If they are severe, it can seriously hurt your marriage, especially if you don't immediately drop swinging and address the issues.

Talk talk talk talk about what you both want, expect, and how you will communicate your interests or lack of with each other. Miscommunication is the biggest problem I know of in swinging.
In preparation before swinging ask yourself if you are totally and completely ready for another person to step in and physically pleasure your spouse like none other.

If you are ready for this then no worries. If not communication is key in setting guidelines for a positive experience.

You will feel many different emotions and that is totally normal, what will make or break you is how you act on those emotions.

    That answer it for ya!
You can EXPECT to get DIVORCED. Swinging is a huge relationship risk. If you are willing to risk throwing it all away, go for it.
i think it will show you a mirror..........if your relation ship is bad and insecure then you will break up and if you two are really for each other then you will get close and love each other more
Disease, hedonism, cheapness, shallowness, empty love, and sordid story's to tell the grandchildren about!
jealousy, big time, swinging or 3 somes or anything involving sex with others then you two is A BAD IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I suggest you make sure your a very confident and secure couple. Because if your not, then trouble could be a brewing on the horizon.

  • How do you feel about interracial couples?

It's wrong. Races were created over years upon years of evolution. To mix the races together is to say that mother nature messed up. People try to cover up the loss of loyalty to their race by saying that it was for love. Whites should stay with whites. Blacks with blacks. And so on and so forth. How do you feel about interracial couples?
    good

i dont kno why ppl always make such a big deal about interracial couples. if anyone has a problem with them, its becuz their racist, obviuosly. How do you feel about interracial couples?
i dont think there is any problem whatsoever with interracial couples! whats inside is way more important than anything!
I am in an interracial marriage. While we should not judge because it is not our business I do think extra care should be used before entering an interracial marriage. It may be less of a problem for black/white born in the same country but language barriers make a serious obstacle and you may not marry the person you think you are marrying.
    power to them.

i dont consider my relationship interracial, even though it might be, cause i dont even see her as any different from me.

but i know other people do, im just some Chino.
I do not care at all, I think that it is beautiful and they make beautiful children.
Let me ask my mom and dad!
i think that they are a happy bunch. they're just like anyone else. they found happiness.
    No problem whatsoever with them.
    I'm happy if they're happy!
I am in an interracial relationship and people looks at us a lot.
no different than I do about any other couple. Replace ';interracial'; with ';gay'; or some other ';derogatory'; term and I'll still give you the same answer. As long as they love each other, I'm in no position to feel anything but happiness for them.
I think they make the most adorable children! Especially babies that come from one black parent and one white. Simply gorgeous!
    there kids are beautiful
    Live and let live.
I am a 37 year old white guy.I believe that mixed race relationships are the right of every single american and should have the same level of acceptance as any other kind of relationship. However, in my opinion, there is a terrible downfall to mixed race relationships and that is the birth of a baby that is interracial.Babies are soooo inocent and pure.It is definitely not the babies fault but there will be hardships for that child.I remember when i was a young boy and remember the other children were very cruel to the kids that did not look like them. The mixed race child who had a unique color of skin was the odd child out and was the kids that got verbally and physically abused and picked on leaving that child with hatred and prejudice which carries into the childs adulthood which only brings negitive effects. That is the only area of interracial relationships that i believe the world can do without! ITS ALL ABOUT THE KIDS no matter what color.
well i have no prob cuz not only am i a product of one but i lke japanese guys and im clearly not japanese, lol
It's perfectly ok. What race is a black man, a chinaman, etc,. One race, humans. differences because of thousands of years of different history, yes. But all human.

Now from another point of view, a pigeon wouldnt reproduce with a seagull, So are there different kinds of humans, say one coming form mesopotamia, another from china (old country) or perhaps ancient mayan civilization. maybe.....

But it's alright at the base of the quesiton.
My sister is dating a black man, and i have no problem with it.

Although personally I'm not attracted to black women.

Race is only an issue when we make it one.
I like interracial dating, I get to learn a bout the person's culture, and they get to learn about mine, not just that but its something new and different. My bf is hispanic.. and im mixed.
I don't care if a person is black, white, green, or purple. So long as they love each other, that is all that matters.
We don't have the right to have an opinion of someone's preference. Love knows no color.
I see nothing wrong with interracial couples.

Much of society does have a problem with it. With societal pressure, interracial couples may have a tougher road than non-interracial couples.
